Sound worlds - world sounds

The concept envisages an expansion to include an international sound installation. In addition to Mannheim, where recordings have since been mixed, sound collages have been created in Bad Ems and Nieder-Olm / Dijon and Kaiserslautern; further stages are planned.

The Freundeskreis Givat Haviva Deutschland eVgo with"Sound worlds - world sounds" to the next round!

To Mainz, where the start was on November 6th, 2017 on the 12th Rhineland-Palatinate Democracy Day with the support ofPrime Minister Malu Dreyer, the first digital collage was created in Mannheim in spring 2018 (see above).

Now it goes on to Bad Emswhere under the Erasmus week (11. - 17.11.2018) Young people from different countries (Malta, Greece, Italy and Turkey and of course from Germany) come together to build intercultural bridges. What could be more obvious than dealing with the peace project Givat Haviva in our exhibition? And an active contribution to understanding in the workshop "Klangwelten - Weltenklänge"?

That same week, in Mainz a similarly colorful group from France, Israel and Mainz meet virtually and work together digitally. The presentation is public: on 11/13 at 7 p.m. at the Institut Français. The fourth sequence should then be in Kaiserslautern as part of the exhibition (March 2108) arise.

You can still register for all workshops. The wonderful thing about it is that personal presence is not the decisive factor. So, dear music and computer fans, no matter where you are: you can register at rratter@givat-haviva.net! Requirement to participate? Cell phone and computer with internet access!
Brief concept -"Sound of tones"

In the project “Klang derTöne ”is about young people from Mannheim, especially from the Friedrich List School, combining tones, voices and noises from Germany and Israel into a sound collage in a field recording workshop. The workshop should last a total of two weeks and take place in the Musikpark Mannheim. It is led by Zacharias Zschenderlein, a digitally and analogue music teacher. The resulting sound collage is uploaded to an internet cloud and continued by another group of young people in another city. The result is a complete piece, which will be shown with recordings from Germany and Israel as well as photos at a closing event in summer 2018. The sound collage created in this way can also be presented in public space, for example in an S-Bahn underpass or in a similar location, which is then exposed to the sound collage and presents the project on an information board.

The workshop took place at the end of February; the result will be presented on May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Mannheim as part of a joint event with the Juingen Forum Mannheim.

The aim of the workshop is for the young people to train acoustic perception and sensitivity by working with the sounds and tones. Above all, they “dive” into a strange acoustic world and use “music as a global language”. In this way, stereotypical perspectives can be corrected and the perception of “self” and “foreign” is trained.
