Givat Haviva Israel

What is Givat Haviva?

Givat Haviva is an educational and meeting place between Tel Aviv and Haifa that is actively committed to a peaceful and tolerant society. As the oldest and largest existing Israeli institution in the field of Jewish-Arab communication work, Givat Haviva is committed to promoting cultural and religious pluralism.

Peace is more than the absence of war and violence. - Education must include an understanding of democracy and tolerance and understanding for one another. That is why Givat Haviva's work begins with encounters between Jewish and Arab young people and gives them - often for the first time - the opportunity to talk to one another and engage with one another. In addition to the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace, there are a large number of cultural and educational institutions on campus. These include the art center, the archive and research center of the youth movement Haschomer Hazair Yad YaAri and the Moreshet Center for Holocaust Studies. Language courses are also offered. In every respect, Givat Haviva offers ideal conditions for intercultural learning.

Over 50,000 people visit the campus year after year. To know means to understand. Through Givat Haviva, thousands of young people have now learned to live with their neighbors and to resolve conflicts peacefully. Givat Haviva is operated in Israel by Havatzelet, the cultural and educational institution of the HaArtzi kibbutz movement.

In order to support the financially very expensive peace work, support organizations have been set up around the world. Givat Haviva Deutschland eV is one of them. Donations and membership fees to us go to projects that have been awarded the 2001 UNESCO Peace Prize, among others. The Circle of Friends is recognized by the Mainz tax office as non-profit and particularly worthy of support.
